Turkish steelmaker Habas is set to expand its presence in the pipe sector through a new acquisition.
The company aims to acquire Ilhanlar Haddecilik, a subsidiary of the Ilhanlar Group, located in the Osmaniye Organized Industrial Zone in southern Turkey. Habas has applied for approval from the relevant authorities for this acquisition. Habas, based in Aliaga, Izmir, has an annual crude steel production capacity of 4.5 mln tons. The company produces a range of steel products, including semi-finished products, long and flat steel products, billets, rebar, and HRC.
