Johnny Sjostrom has been appointed President and CEO of SSAB, effective October 28, 2024. He currently leads SSAB Special Steels and will succeed Martin Lindqvist, who is transitioning to a board career.
Sjostrom, who has headed SSAB Special Steels since 2019, has been instrumental in advancing the company’s special steels business and overseeing the green transformation at Oxelosund. His background includes serving as CEO of Uddeholm and various roles at Outokumpu Stainless Oy.
Sjostrom will continue as Head of Special Steels until he assumes his new role. Lindqvist will remain in his position until October 27, 2024.
