Turkish steel producer, Diler Demir Celik has achieved top performance and set speed records (40 m/sec) for D8 and D10 diameters with its newly installed spooler line at the Izmit plant in Turkey, according to a press release from Italian equipment supplier Danieli.
The new spooler line, equipped with advanced machines designed to maximize productivity for small-diameter bars, enables Diler Demir Celik to produce 500,000 tons per year of twist-free spooled bars in coils, ranging from 8 to 25 mm in diameter.
The scope of supply includes a six-pass fast-finishing block, a water-cooling line to ensure final mechanical properties meet international standards, and Sund Birsta strapping machines. The entire process is controlled by a Danieli Automation system.
Danieli’s spooler technology eliminates the need for coil unwinding and rewinding before use in downstream lines, ensuring optimal metallurgical uniformity throughout the entire coil.
