United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) has introduced ZMAG coated steel, a new carbon flat-rolled product designed to offer enhanced strength, resilience, and sustainability. ZMAG steel is engineered to perform in the harshest conditions, making it suitable for the solar, automotive, and construction industries.
Featuring a zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating, ZMAG steel provides up to five times the corrosion resistance of traditional galvanized steel. It is designed for long-term reliability, reducing maintenance costs and improving efficiency for products exposed to the elements, such as solar frames and racking systems.
Manufactured and coated domestically at PRO-TEC in Ohio, ZMAG steel is 100pct U.S.-produced, eliminating the risks associated with imported materials, U.S. Steel said.
U.S. Steel is also offering a 25-year warranty on ZMAG coated steel, underscoring its commitment to durability and performance.
Established in 1901, U.S. Steel is a major steel producer with an annual raw steelmaking capability of 22.4 mln tons, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with operations spanning the United States and Central Europe.
