Outokumpu Mexinox’s operation disrupted by flooding

Outokumpu Mexinox is facing potential delivery delays following recent flooding that temporarily halted production at its facility.

On September 15, torrential rains in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, caused flooding at the Outokumpu Mexinox mill, necessitating a temporary shutdown of part of the production site to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

While the company is still assessing the extent of the damage, it has determined that the facility is safe and has resumed partial production. However, customers may experience delays in deliveries as the company works diligently to establish a timeline for returning to full production.

Outokumpu Mexinox is Mexico’s only stainless steel finishing mill, producing coil, strip, sheets, circles, and plate materials.
