Turkey’s wire rod exports reached approximately 610,000 tons in the first eight months of this year, representing a significant increase of nearly 68pct YoY, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Romania was the largest export destination for Turkish wire rod, accounting for around 185,000 tons, followed by Bulgaria with 49,000 tons and Australia with 43,000 tons.
In August 2024, however, Turkey’s wire rod exports fell by 42pct YoY to 43,000 tons, marking a decrease of 2.3pct compared to the previous month.
