Turkey’s HRC imports approximately 2.44 mln tons in the first eight months of this year, a decline of nearly 20pct compared to the same period last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
China was the leading supplier, providing around 1.24 mln tons, a YoY increase of 7.6pct. Egypt followed with 408,000 tons, while Russia supplied 220,400 tons.
In August 2024, Turkey imported about 245,000 tons of HRC, which is a 23pct YoY decrease but a 57pct increase compared to the previous month.
