Delna S.p.A., a company within the ArcelorMittal CLN Distribuzione Italia Group and a key provider of pickling services for coils and wire rods, has awarded Tenova a contract for an Acid Regeneration Plant (ARP) at its Brivio, Italy facility. The new ARP will have a capacity of 2,000 liters per hour.
This collaboration will leverage Tenova Italimpianti’s innovative technologies to enhance Delna’s green transition by recovering waste acid from its pickling line, significantly reducing its environmental footprint. The ARP will feature the advanced BLUEdriven package solutions, which include a customized monitoring process to increase production flexibility and optimize operational costs while minimizing environmental impact.
The BLUEdriven FlexCapacity process allows for capacity adjustments in steel production based on demand, ensuring stable operation of the ARP while optimizing energy consumption and extending the plant’s lifespan. Additionally, the ZeroWaste automated process will recycle rinsing and scrubber water, recovering chlorides and closing the production loop to improve overall efficiency.
The ARP will also integrate the BLUEdriven Emission Control system, setting a new benchmark for Best Available Technology (BAT) by achieving the strictest emission standards with an effluent-free, multi-stage cleaning process.
Equipped with Tenova Edge, the ARP will connect to Tenova’s IIoT Platform, providing Delna with tailored dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). After completion, Tenova will offer 24 months of technical and technological support, both remotely and on-site, to optimize the ARP’s performance continuously.
