Pomini Long Rolling Mills has secured a contract from Riva Acciaio SPA to expand the continuous rolling mill at its Cerveno facility in Brescia, Italy, as part of a modernization plan. This facility processes both carbon and special steel products.
The main supply will consist of two red ring 572 stands, one horizontal and one vertical, featuring a maximum working distance of 720 mm and a barrel length of 950 mm. The package includes the corresponding reduction units with a new lubrication system, as well as two standby stands, rolling guides from Pomini’s BRG division, spare parts, and other components.
The electrical system will incorporate AC motors for the new stands, a new control panel, and a Motor Control Center (MCC) for the lubrication unit. Pomini will also provide engineering services, installation support, and assistance with CE marking certification.
Startup is anticipated in the second half of 2025, with the new stands to be installed upstream of the existing intermediate and finishing trains, simplifying the current continuous rolling mill’s configuration.
