In September 2024, Pakistan recorded a 36.55pct YoY increase in finished steel imports, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The country imported 277,404 tons of finished steel, up from 203,149 tons in the same month last year. For the first nine months of 2024, finished steel imports rose by 25pct, totaling 2.15 mln tons.
