    Cleveland-Cliffs secures final approvals for Stelco Holdings acquisition

    Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. has announced that it has obtained the necessary regulatory and program approvals under the Investment Canada Act and the Strategic Innovation Fund, completing the final steps needed for its acquisition of Stelco Holdings. With these approvals secured, the acquisition is set to close on November 1, 2024.

    Stelco is a cost-efficient, integrated steelmaker recognized for having one of the most modern and technologically advanced integrated steelmaking facilities in North America. The company produces a variety of flat-rolled products, including coated, cold-rolled, and hot-rolled steel, as well as pig iron and metallurgical coke.
