JSW Steel reported a 1pct YoY decrease in consolidated crude steel production for October 2024, totaling 22.81 mln tons, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
In India, the company’s steel output fell by 2pct YoY to 21.99 mln tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 89pct during this period. The decline in production was attributed to temporary maintenance activities at one of the blast furnaces at the Dolvi plant, which has since returned to full operation.
In contrast, JSW Steel USA-Ohio saw an increase in production, generating 82,000 tons in October 2024, up from 76,000 tons in the same month last year.
JSW Steel, a key player in the Indian steel industry, has a consolidated crude steel capacity of 35.7 mln tons per annum, including 1.5 mln tons per annum from its U.S. operations.
