China’s steel product exports increased by 7.7pct YoY in May, reaching a total of 8.36 mln tons, surpassing the 7.93 mln tons reported in April, as per data from the General Administration of Customs.
Furthermore, steel exports for the January-May period reached 36.37 mln tons, reflecting a substantial growth of 41 pct YoY.
On the other hand, China’s steel imports in May declined by 22 pct YoY to 631,000 tons and a 31pct drop from March.
Customs data further revealed that total steel imports during the first five months of the year experienced a decline of 37pct YoY, reaching 3.13 mln tons.
