Turkish steel producer, Kardemir has announced an adjustment in rebar and billet prices, according to its latest price list.
The company has increased the prices of 12-32 mm rebar sizes to TRY 15,000 (USD 635) per ton, as opposed to TRY 14,915 (USD 650) per ton EXW, last week.
Furthermore, Kardemir’s price list indicates that the S235JR grade 150 mm billet is now offered at USD 600 per ton EXW, reflecting an increase from the previous price of USD 595 per ton. Similarly, the B420 grade 150 mm billet is now priced at USD 605 per ton EXW, marking a USD 5 per ton rise compared to the prices announced on May 31, 2023.
The upward revision of Kardemir’s rebar prices can be attributed to the significant depreciation of the Turkish currency, which has declined by approximately 20pct year-to-date.
