According to a recent report by the Iranian Steel Producers Association, Iranian steelmakers recorded a production of 6.31 mln tons of semi-finished products during the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 21 – May 21). This figure indicates a 7.4pct increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
The production of billet and bloom reached 3.85 mln tons, marking a YoY increase of 12.9pct. However, slab output experienced a slight decline of 0.2pct with a total of 2.46 mln tons.
In terms of finished steel, the overall output rose by 3.6pct to reach 3.93 mln tons. Among the finished steel products, long steel products accounted for the largest share, with a production of 2.18 mln tons, reflecting a notable increase of 7.8pct. Conversely, flat steel production experienced a decline of 1.4pct YoY, totaling 1.7 mln tons.
