Turkish steel producer, Kardemir has announced new rebar prices, according to its latest price list.
The company has raised the prices of rebar sizes ranging from 12-32 mm to TRY 15,850 (USD 607) per ton, compared to TRY 15,000 (USD 635) per ton EXW in the previous month.
After the May elections, the Turkish currency experienced a substantial depreciation, resulting in a decline in USD prices. The Turkish currency has lost more than 20 pct of its value against the USD, leading to the downward adjustment in rebar prices in USD terms.
Earlier this week, Kardemir had reduced the prices of billets and wire rods. The company now offers 150 mm billets in S235JR grade at USD 575 per ton EXW and B420 grade at USD 570 per ton EXW, representing a decrease of USD 5-10 per ton compared to the prices announced on June 21, 2023.
Kardemir’s wire rod offer for the 5.5 size, available in 1008-1010 and SAE 1006 grades, is now in the range of USD 640-650 per ton EXW, down by USD 20 per ton from the previous prices.
