Changzhou Dongfang Special Steel Co. Ltd. has successfully rolled the first bar on its new SBQ bar mill equipped with a Kocks RSB 370++/4, the core unit of the facility in Changzhou, China.
The 800,000 tons per annum mill features 21 H/V stands followed by the customized 3-roll RSB 370++/4, enabling production of straight bars from 20 to 80 mm with high dimensional accuracy and efficiency.
Kocks’ supply scope included remote-controlled stand and guide adjustments, roll shop equipment, and the BAMICON Octopus digital system to optimize tooling workflow.
The privately-owned steelmaker produces a range of value-added SBQ products, including alloyed carbon steels, spring steels, ball bearing steels, and gear steels for demanding downstream applications.
