Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine has signed a long-term scrap supply agreement with ferrous and non-ferrous metal recycler TSR Group. The deal involves TSR subsidiaries Johann Neumuller GmbH (Linz) and ALFA Rohstoffhandel Munchen GmbH, which will supply various grades of recycled steel to Voestalpine’s Linz and Donawitz plants.
The partnership aims to secure a stable, long-term supply of recycled raw materials to support Voestalpine’s green transition strategy. The agreement runs through 2034, with supply volumes expected to increase from 2027 to meet growing demand linked to the company’s technological shift in steel production.
TSR noted that the close proximity of its facilities to Voestalpine’s plants will help reduce transport distances and ensure efficient, reliable logistics.
