Turkey imported approximately 9.4 mln tons of scrap in the first half of 2025, down by nearly 9pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States was the top supplier, delivering 1.72 mln tons, followed by the Netherlands with 1.5 mln tons and the United Kingdom with 924,000 tons.
In June alone, scrap imports totaled around 1.2 mln tons, down 8.7pct YoY and 24pct from the previous month.
