Mukand Sumi Special Steel Ltd. (MSSSL) has placed an order with Danieli India, a subsidiary of Italy’s Danieli, for a state-of-the-art blooming mill to be installed at its Hospet plant in Karnataka.
The mill will roll up to 200 mm diameter rounds from blooms measuring 380 mm x 420 mm, offering greater flexibility, enhanced quality control, and optimized product mix. It is expected to boost MSSSL’s capacity to produce high-quality special steels with improved yield, better surface finish, and higher productivity.
MSSSL, a joint venture between Jamnalal Sons (Bajaj Group) and Sumitomo Corporation, is a leading supplier of over 400 grades of high-performance steels for automotive and engineering applications, including transmission parts, engine components, suspension systems, fasteners, bearings, and fuel injection systems.
