Turkish steelmaker Karabuk Demir Celik (Kardemir) significantly reduced its losses in the first half of 2025, according to its latest financial report.
Net loss fell to TRY 254.21 mln (USD 6.2 mln) from TRY 2.47 bln a year earlier. Sales revenue, however, dropped nearly 9pct YoY to TRY 29.89 bln (USD 734.4 mln).
Crude steel output rose 2.6pct YoY to 1.24 mln tons, while sales volumes jumped 17.1pct YoY to 1.23 mln tons.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
