Spartan UK, part of the Metinvest Group, has won a contract to supply 1,600 tons of steel plates for the new Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk, one of the UK’s largest energy projects in decades.
The plant is expected to power up to 6 mln homes and create as many as 10,000 jobs during peak construction.
The first batch, comprising 800 tons of thick plates, will be delivered in August, with the remainder scheduled for Q3 2025.
Spartan UK operates a quarto universal reversing plate mill with automatic gauge control, capable of producing up to 200,000 tons annually. Its products range from 8-150 mm thick, up to 2,100 mm wide, and 22 meters long, well-suited for major infrastructure and energy projects.
