Turkey imported 1.4 mln tons of pig iron in the first half of 2025, up 51pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia was the largest supplier with 860,000 tons, followed by Kazakhstan at 113,600 tons.
In June 2025, imports jumped 139pct YoY to 205,500 tons, though volumes declined 12pct from May.
