Thyssenkrupp Steel, together with Smart Steel Technologies (SST), has introduced an intelligent scheduling system for its modernized production network in Duisburg-Bruckhausen. The new software automates and optimizes scheduling across one of Europe’s most advanced steelmaking facilities, ensuring greater efficiency and consistent product quality.
The system integrates key assets including continuous casting line 4, the upgraded hot strip mill 4, and the slab storage facility.
Developed and tested in close cooperation, the SST Scheduling System enables automated, intelligent, and highly responsive production planning.
With this launch, Thyssenkrupp Steel significantly enhances its level of planning automation. SST will also be responsible for the system’s ongoing maintenance and further development.
