Ministry extends AD tariffs on rebar imports from China, Turkey and Ukraine

The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced that it will maintain tariffs on steel rebar imports from China, Turkey, and Ukraine for a period of five years.
The antidumping duties on rebar imports from China is 29 pct, 7-22.8 pct for rebar imports from Turkey and 17.2-27 pct on Ukrainian-origin rebar imports.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry said that the decision to maintain the tariffs was made in order to protect the Egyptian steel industry from unfair competition. The ministry also said that the tariffs would help to ensure the availability of steel at reasonable prices for Egyptian consumers.
