Turkish steel producer, Kardemir has reduced billet and wire rod prices, according to its latest price list.
The company’s S235JR grade billet is now offered at USD 525 per ton EXW, a decrease from the previous rate of USD 565 per ton. Similarly, the B420 grade billet is being offered at USD 530 per ton EXW, representing a USD 40 per ton decrease compared to the prices announced the previous week.
Kardemir has also revised the price of its 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade wire rod to USD 625 per ton EXW, down from the previously announced price of USD 650 per ton. Similarly, for SAE 1008-1010 grades, the prices have been reduced by USD 25 per ton to USD 615 per ton EXW.
The latest price cut is attributed to weak demand and cheaper billet import offers. Import offers for billet from Russia are in the range of USD 515-525 per ton CFR.
