Kardemir’s subsidiary, Dokum Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret (Kardokmak), has officially launched its USD 5 mln forged steel plant.
According to local news reports, following the arrival of all the necessary equipment at the factory in March, the mechanical installation, along with mechanical and hot tests, were successfully completed, leading to the conclusion of the testing phase.
With an annual capacity of 20,000 tons, the newly operational plant is set to produce a range of products, including rolling mill rolls of various diameters, axles, forging shafts, and tool steel. This expansion in Kardokmak’s capabilities aims to cater to the growing demand for these steel products in the market.
Kardokmak has been operating within the Kardemir group since 1967.
