Omani steel producer, Al Jazeera Steel Products Co. SAOG‘s Board of Directors have appointed new member, according to a notice.
The board has approved the temporary appointment of Mr. Shihab Salim Al-Barwani, who will serve as a board member until the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Mr. Shihab brings with him a distinguished background, encompassing over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the company said.
In a separate filing, the Omani steel company disclosed the resignation of Mr. Taqi Ali Sultan from his position as a member of the Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Audit Committee. His resignation is effective from July 17, 2023, and is attributed to personal reasons.
Al Jazeera Steel Products Co. is one of the leading Steel Tube & Structural product manufacturers in the Middle East. The plant produces tubular products, merchant sections and rebars. The plant consists of 4 tube making lines with a total capacity of 300,000 tons per annum. The merchant bar mill have a capacity of 300,000 tons per annum. Apart from catering to its core domestic market, company exports its product to 25 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Germany & other European Union countries.
