Acerbrag, after 20 years of operation, initiated the overhaul of the Danieli-supplied fast-finishing block overgear at its wire rod mill in Bragado, Buenos Aires province, Argentina.
The refurbishment involved eight subcontractor companies, working under the coordination of Acerbrag and Danieli Service. The team removed the equipment from the rolling line, completed civil work, and reworked mechanical parts.
Key tasks included inspection, replacing components with Danieli original spares such as gears and bearings, conducting dimensional control of housings and bodies, and performing vibrational control measurements. Self-propelled cranes and precision workshops assisted with machining parts during the process.
On schedule, the machine was fully restored in 21 days and resumed efficient, reliable, and safe operation, allowing the rolling mill to restart production.
