Saudi Arabia’s Aluminium Products Company (ALUPCO) and Hong Kong’s Asia Aluminum Group (AAG) have signed a USD 500 mln agreement to establish the region’s largest integrated downstream aluminum base in Riyadh.
The project, spanning 1.5 mln m2, will be developed in two phases. Phase one, due in 30 months, includes a 100,000-ton aluminum extrusion facility, expanding to 200,000 tons in phase two. It will also house production for 30 mln solar panel frames annually, supporting 25 GW of solar projects, and 30,000 modular housing units.
