ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AMNS India) has launched STRUCTROMAX and WELDSTAR, two new heavy steel plate brands targeting infrastructure, construction, transportation, energy and heavy engineering applications.
Developed at the company’s plate mill in Hazira, Gujarat, the products use advanced rolling and heat-treatment technologies. STRUCTROMAX is based on thermo-mechanical controlled processing (TMCP) and is designed for applications including bridges, high-rise buildings, offshore projects, railways and wind energy.
WELDSTAR comprises ultra-high-strength steel plates designed to help reduce equipment weight, increase payload capacity and improve fuel efficiency. The products target cranes, mining equipment, transport systems, offshore projects and other heavy-duty applications.
AMNS India said its heavy plate portfolio is Green Steel Certified with a 3-Star Rating under the Ministry of Steel’s Green Steel Taxonomy.
AMNS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, with a crude steel capacity of around 9 mln tons per year. The company produces a diversified range of flat steel products, including value-added grades, and has a pellet capacity of 20 mln tons. It is also developing an 8.2 mln tons per annum integrated steel plant in Andhra Pradesh.
