Amreli returns to profit in 9M FY2026 on loan restructuring gains

Pakistan’s Amreli Steels Limited reported a return to profitability for the nine-month period ended 31 March 2026, primarily supported by gains from loan restructuring.

The company posted a net profit of PKR 868 mln (USD 3.1 mln), compared with a net loss of PKR 2.86 bln a year earlier. Revenue remained broadly stable at PKR 13.04 bln (USD 46.8 mln), up slightly from PKR 12.91 bln in the same period last year.

During the period, Amreli recorded a gain of PKR 3.07 bln (USD 11 mln) from restructuring of loans, which was the main contributor to the improved bottom line.

Operating performance remained under pressure, with an operating loss of PKR 300 mln (USD 1.1 mln), although narrower than PKR 792 mln a year earlier. Gross profit declined to PKR 294 mln (USD 1.05 mln) from PKR 340 mln, reflecting margin pressure.

Finance costs also decreased to PKR 2.38 bln (USD 8.5 mln) from PKR 3.14 bln in the prior-year period.

Amreli Steels maintains an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons for billets and a rebar manufacturing capacity of 605,000 tons per annum.
