ArcelorMittal and EDF have signed a Nuclear Power Production Allocation Contract (CAPN) covering ArcelorMittal’s sites in France, following a letter of intent agreed in January 2024.
Under the 18-year agreement, EDF will allocate a share of capacity from its operating nuclear fleet to ArcelorMittal, providing a long-term supply of low-carbon, competitively priced electricity. Deliveries began on January 1, 2026, the company said.
ArcelorMittal operates two integrated steel plants in France, at Dunkirk and Fos-sur-Mer, alongside multiple downstream processing and finishing facilities nationwide.
