ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Jubail (TPJ) has awarded the EPC contract for its heat treatment and finishing line expansion to Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co. Ltd. (Sinosteel MECC), with Tenova S.p.A. supplying advanced finishing technology.
Set to break ground in December 2025, the project will add 200,000 tons of heat treatment and 150,000 tons of premium OCTG threading capacity. It will enhance ArcelorMittal TPJ’s ability to produce high-spec seamless carbon steel tubes for Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA+ energy markets.
Earlier this year, the company secured full financial backing from leading Saudi banks for the expansion. The investment aligns with Vision 2030 goals by localizing advanced technologies, strengthening domestic supply chains, and supporting long-term value creation in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and ArcelorMittal, ArcelorMittal TPJ is a major OCTG producer. Since acquiring Jubail Energy Services Company (JESCO) in 2021, it operates two state-of-the-art mills in Jubail Industrial City with a combined capacity of 1 mln tons annually.
