Ashghal launches USD 22 bln infrastructure plan for 2025-2029

Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched a five-year infrastructure plan worth over USD 22 bln, covering projects from land development and public buildings to sewage networks and strategic outfalls.

A key focus is the strategic outfalls project, set to begin this year, which will reuse stormwater for irrigation and cooling across northern and southern Doha. Main tunneling starts in 2025, with sub-tunneling in early 2026, in coordination with relevant ministries.

Ashghal also plans to tender several PPP projects, including infrastructure for over 5,500 residential plots and is considering a PPP model for the second phase of the Al Wakra and Al Wukair wastewater plant.
