Baosteel Steel Pipe (Ma’anshan) Science and Technology Co., Ltd. has awarded SMS group a contract to supply two PQF (Premium Quality Finishing) seamless tube rolling lines for its plant in Ma’anshan, Anhui Province, further strengthening the long-standing cooperation between the two companies.
The order includes two complete seamless tube production lines. The PQF159 line will feature a CTP1000VD cone roll piercing mill, a seven-inch PQF BCO mill and a 350A28 stretch reducing mill (SRM). The PQF258 line will comprise a CTP1150VD cone roll piercing mill, a ten-inch PQF BCO mill and a 500A20 stretch reducing mill.
SMS group’s scope of supply also includes the complete Level 1 automation system, Technological Measurement System (TMS) and CARTAneo process control software, together with roll redressing equipment for both the PQF and stretch reducing mills.
According to SMS group, the PQF technology will improve production efficiency, reduce operating costs and downtime, while enhancing dimensional accuracy and product quality compared with conventional seamless tube rolling lines.
