Barca Metals has completed inspection and validation of key equipment for its new shredder-based scrap recycling plant at Razorback, New South Wales, supplied by Danieli Centro Recycling.
The inspection at Danieli Thailand’s workshop covered the main equipment package, including the DCR 2227 heavy-duty shredder, ZDS 250-800 preshredder and hydraulic power unit (HPU). Barca Metals and Danieli Thailand teams jointly assessed equipment assembly, manufacturing quality, functional performance and compliance with agreed technical specifications.
The equipment was confirmed to meet the required project criteria following assembly and testing. The inspection marks further progress in the development of the recycling facility ahead of the next stages of project execution.
Danieli Centro Recycling was selected by Barca Metals earlier this year to supply the plant, which is designed to process scrap into high-quality ferrous and non-ferrous products. The core shredder has a 4,000-hp (3,000 kW) motor and is designed for output of around 100 tons per hour.
The project also includes a downstream separation line with magnetic separation, air separation and non-ferrous recovery equipment to improve product quality and maximize scrap value.
