Turkey’s billet imports increased 15.5pct YoY to around 3.35 mln tons in January-August 2026, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia was the largest supplier, shipping around 935,300 tons, followed by China at 800,300 tons and Malaysia at 426,400 tons.
In August, Turkey imported around 284,700 tons of billet, down nearly 25pct YoY and 23.5pct from July.
