British Steel has secured a new GBP 35 mln (USD 46 mln) contract to supply rail products for Turkey’s expanding high-speed rail network, the company announced. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is expected to highlight the deal ahead of the G20 summit in Johannesburg.
The latest contract adds to a similar GBP 35 mln (USD 46 mln) agreement awarded last year for the high-speed line linking Mersin with Adana, Osmaniyes and Gaziantep in southern Turkey.
Lisa Coulson, British Steel’s Chief Commercial Officer, said that securing these major contracts, backed by UK Export Finance, underscores British Steel’s capability to deliver the sustainable rail infrastructure of the future.
