The Ceer Manufacturing Complex (CMC) in King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah, has reached a significant milestone with the recent installation of the first steel frame for Saudi Arabia’s first electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility, just four months after construction began, the company announced in a press release.
Earlier this year, Ceer awarded a USD 1.3 bln contract to Modern Building Leaders (MBL) for constructing the complex.
Ceer, a joint venture between PIF and Foxconn, will design, manufacture, and supply electric sedans and SUVs from this 530,000-square-meter facility. The complex will include dedicated zones for each stage of vehicle production, such as a press shop, body shop, paint shop, and general assembly, along with logistics, waste management, warehouses, offices, a water treatment system, and a vehicle test track.
