The UAE coated steel market remains firm, supported by good domestic demand, while logistics disruptions continue to affect material availability and local production.
Major UAE coated steel producer Al Ghurair is currently offering galvanized steel, 1 mm Z275, at around USD 1,030 per ton EXW for November-December deliveries.
In the import segment, Chinese galvanized steel offers are currently indicated at around USD 700-710 per ton CFR UAE for 1 mm material with Z100-Z120 coating.
Exports of coated steel outside GCC from the UAE remain virtually absent as high freight costs and logistics disruptions make seaborne shipments difficult. Producers are therefore relying more on local and regional GCC markets, where land-route trade remains ongoing.
Market insiders said limited availability of coated steel continues to support prices, while domestic rerollers continue to face difficulties securing HRC feedstock. Indian HRC export offers are currently heard at around USD 570-590 per ton FOB, up from around USD 520-530 per ton in late August, when several UAE buyers, including rerollers, booked Indian HRC on an FOB basis. Chinese 3 mm commercial-quality HRC is currently offered at around USD 590-600 per ton CFR UAE.
