Corinth to supply pipes for Greece-North Macedonia gas interconnector project

Corinth Pipeworks has announced its participation in the Greece-North Macedonia Natural Gas Interconnector project, jointly developed by DESFA (Greece) and NOMAGAS (North Macedonia).

The 123-kilometer pipeline will connect the national gas transmission systems of both countries, with 55 kilometers in Greece, previously supplied by Corinth Pipeworks, and 68 kilometers in North Macedonia. Following the successful delivery of the Greek section, Corinth Pipeworks has now been awarded the supply of 28″ Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) line pipes for the North Macedonian section by RAPID BILD DOO.

The pipes are certified for hydrogen transport under ASME B31.12 Option B, supporting future integration of clean energy. Construction began on 9 July 2025, and the interconnector is expected to be operational in the first half of 2027.

Corinth Pipeworks, a division of Cenergy Holdings, operates a facility in Thisvi, Greece, with an annual production capacity of 1 mln tons of steel pipes for energy and construction markets.
