Turkey’s crude steel production rose 5.8pct YoY to 3.38 mln tons in January 2026, according to data from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Billet output increased 4.4pct to 2 mln tons, while slab production climbed 8.1pct to 1.3 mln tons during the month.
Electric arc furnaces accounted for 72.2pct of Turkey’s total crude steel output in 2025, with the remaining 27.8pct produced via blast furnaces.
