AD Ports Group has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with major UAE steel and industrial producers, including EMSTEEL Group, Al Ghurair Iron & Steel, and Tenaris, as part of plans to establish a rail-linked inland logistics network connecting industrial zones with the country’s key ports.
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has also joined the initiative as an anchor industrial cargo customer.
The network will link Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals with inland dry ports, cargo depots, and industrial zones, including KEZAD Group’s Industry City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), supporting the movement of raw materials, industrial inputs, and finished products across the UAE.
According to AD Ports Group, the integrated logistics network is designed to improve supply chain efficiency by providing manufacturers with more reliable access to feedstock and raw materials, while offering greater flexibility for the distribution and export of finished and semi-finished products.
The initiative is also expected to enhance the utilization of the UAE’s national rail infrastructure and strengthen cargo connectivity between ports, industrial hubs, and end markets.
