Drydocks World wins EPC contract for world’s largest floating LNG facility

Drydocks World, a DP World company, has secured a major EPC contract from AMIGO LNG to deliver the world’s largest floating LNG (FLNG) liquefaction facility.

The project involves converting two LNG carriers into Floating Storage Units (FSUs) and building two new FLNG barges at Drydocks World’s Dubai yard. Once operational in H2 2028, the facility will offer over 4.2 mln tons per year of liquefaction capacity, the largest of its kind globally.

AMIGO LNG, a joint venture between Texas-based Epcilon LNG and Singapore’s LNG Alliance, will locate the facility off Guaymas, Sonora on Mexico’s west coast. Supplied with gas from the US Permian Basin, it will position Mexico as a growing LNG hub, enabling direct exports to Asia and Latin America.
