Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a USD 217 mln contract for the Al Qudra Street Development Project. The project spans from Al Qudra Street’s intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Emirates Road, passing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. It includes multiple interchanges, 2,700 metres of bridges, and an 11.6-kilometre street expansion.
According to Mattar Al Tayer, RTA’s Director General and Chairman, key upgrades include a 600-metre bridge with four lanes in each direction at the intersection with the road connecting Arabian Ranches and Dubai Studio City. Additionally, a 700-metre bridge with seven lanes in both directions will enhance the intersection with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.
To improve traffic flow, a 500-metre bridge will be built for vehicles moving from Al Qudra Street towards Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street in the Jebel Ali direction, while a 900-metre bridge will serve traffic heading towards Downtown Dubai and Dubai International Airport. The project also includes three kilometres of service roads along Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. As part of the expansion, Al Qudra Street will extend from Emirates Road to the roundabout, with a 4.8-kilometre road to be built in a later phase, connecting the southern part of the developers’ area to Emirates Road.
