Turkish steel producer, Ekinciler Demir Celik places exports at the core of its growth strategy, with Africa and the Middle East as key focus regions, according to the local media reports.
The company has maintained regular exports to Iraq, accounting for 23,640 tons of the 49,493 tons of Turkey’s total rebar exports to the country in 2023. Africa also plays a central role in its export operations, driven by the region’s growing construction activity and rising infrastructure investments. Ekinciler allocates a portion of its production to meet international demand and aims to expand its presence in Africa through tailored solutions and new partnerships, positioning the continent as a strategic priority in the coming years.
The company operates two production lines alongside traditional rolling methods, utilizing a monoblock system that enables steel production at specified weights and qualities. This system supports the creation of lighter, more flexible, and durable structures while reducing iron consumption. Compared to other construction steels of similar diameter and weight, Ekinciler’s products offer a 5 pct efficiency advantage.
Looking ahead to 2025, Ekinciler aims to raise its capacity utilization rate to 75 pct. The company also continues to contribute to rebuilding efforts in Turkey’s earthquake-affected zones, reaffirming its role as a key supplier in critical recovery projects.
The company’s production facilities cover over 239,000 square meters, including 86,340 square meters of indoor space. Ekinciler has an annual capacity of 1.25 mln tons of billets and 1 mln tons of construction steel.
