UAE-based EMSTEEL has launched ES600, a high-strength steel rebar grade that the company says is the highest-strength rebar currently produced in the country.
The product was officially introduced during EMSTEEL’s “Building the UAE’s Future Together” event held in Dubai and is designed for high-rise buildings, infrastructure projects, and other demanding construction applications.
According to EMSTEEL, ES600 is certified to UAE and international standards and can reduce steel consumption by 18-24pct, depending on project design and requirements. The company said the product also helps lower transportation requirements and site congestion, improving construction efficiency.
EMSTEEL estimates that the use of 10,000 tons of ES600 can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 12,100 tons through lower material consumption and logistics requirements.
The company said more than 200,000 tons of ES600 have already been supplied or secured for ongoing and confirmed projects across the UAE, including high-rise towers, residential developments, mixed-use projects, and infrastructure schemes.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Steel has a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement annually. The group exports to over 70 markets, accounting for 30pct of its sales. The company offers a diverse range of steel products, including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections, and sheet piles.
