EMSTEEL partners with TII to develop high-strength steel solutions for critical infrastructure

EMSTEEL Group has signed a collaboration agreement with the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) to develop and validate high-strength reinforcement solutions for the protection of the UAE’s critical infrastructure.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly assess the performance of EMSTEEL’s ES600 high-strength rebar under demanding impact and protection scenarios. The partnership will also support the future development of specialized reinforcement grades designed for resilience-critical applications across strategic national assets and essential public infrastructure.

EMSTEEL said the collaboration combines its advanced steel manufacturing capabilities with TII’s expertise in materials characterization, advanced simulation and impact-response assessment to accelerate the development of next-generation reinforcement solutions.

The company added that the initiative supports its strategy to expand the use of high-performance steel products while strengthening the UAE’s industrial capabilities and promoting innovation-driven manufacturing.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Steel has a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement annually. The group exports to over 70 markets, accounting for 30pct of its sales. The company offers a diverse range of steel products, including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections, and sheet piles.
