EMSTEEL supplies steel, cement for Etihad Rail passenger project

UAE’s EMSTEEL Group, one of the region’s largest publicly traded steel and building materials manufacturers, has supplied locally manufactured rebar and more than 80,000 tons of cement for the Etihad Rail passenger project, supporting the construction of passenger stations across Al Dhafra and Abu Dhabi.

The company’s rebar was supplied to several stations, while its cement was used in concrete production for the project.

The Etihad Rail passenger project is part of the UAE’s strategic infrastructure development aimed at improving connectivity across the country. EMSTEEL said its contribution reflects the capability of the local industry to meet the quality and technical requirements of major infrastructure projects.

EMSTEEL has previously supplied materials for several major UAE developments, including the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Zayed National Museum and Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. The group exports to more than 70 markets, which account for around 30pct of total sales, and produces a broad range of steel products including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
